Intro
Powering up your digital skills
We offer digital courses for adults from Level 3 to Level 5, including in some cases an apprenticeship option.
Digital skills have been identified as a priority locally, regionally and nationally and our programmes are designed to give you the foundations to build on in the workplace.
The digital courses for adults we offer are:
- Level 2 Digital and IT Skills
- Level 3 Certificate in Software Development
- Excel Skills (Introduction/Advanced)
Courses
Digital and IT Skills — Level 2 Diploma
- One year, full time
This course introduces you to skills and concepts which can be found in companies across the world, and arms you with the knowledge required to progress into further education or a career.
Certificate in Software Development — Level 3
- One year, part time
This course will equip you with the coding and programming skills needed for a change of career or to progress in the digital sector.
Excel Skills
- One-day short course
Our Microsoft Excel courses teach you the skills you need to master spreadsheets, from the basics to advanced skills.

Cumbria’s Local Skills Improvement Plan found that employers want:

Staff at all levels and across most roles to have appropriate basic business ICT skills, which they can further grow and adapt in line with emerging needs.

Training for current staff and availability of a sufficient pool of new staff with skills such as coding, data and analysis, social media and digital marketing, cyber security and artificial intelligence.
