When you attend your enrolment session, you’ll receive your Induction Week timetable, so you’ll know what to expect when you start college. Induction Week begins Wednesday 2nd September.

During Induction Week, you’ll meet your tutors, get settled into college and receive your timetable for the rest of the academic year. We’re looking forward to welcoming all our new and returning learners and getting the new college year started!

Modern businesses rely on digital technologies to keep operations running smoothly, so understanding how to use technology effectively is essential. This one-year, full-time course introduces you to the key IT skills and concepts used by companies around the world, giving you the knowledge needed to progress into further study or start a career in technology.

You will study a wide range of modules, including computer programming, cybersecurity, digital skills projects, emerging technologies, network management, networking, data management and analytics, and IT technical support. The course combines practical and theoretical learning to help you develop real-world skills that employers value.

As part of the one-year course, you will also have the opportunity to top up your maths and English skills if needed, supporting your progression to further study, apprenticeships, or employment in the IT sector. By completing this course, you will achieve a Level 2 Diploma in IT, opening the door to higher-level IT courses, apprenticeships, or entry-level roles in the technology industry.

Entry requirements

To study this course you require 4 GCSEs at Grade 3, including English and maths.

Costs

This course is free for students aged 16 or over but under 19 on 31 August 2026. For adults (aged 19+) this course is partially funded by the Government, depending on circumstances you may be eligible for full funding. To be eligible for funding, you must be a UK resident or have lived in the country for three or more years. Find out more here

What next?

By completing this course, you can progress onto a Level 3 apprenticeship such as Digital Marketer, or a Level 3 or T Level in Digital.
