Working with local employers to train and upskill apprentices across Cumbria - start your journey towards a prosperous career today!

An apprenticeship consists of hands-on training in the workplace, where you earn a wage while working towards your qualification. Apprentices are supported by their employer and the College, learning the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to allow them to thrive in their role. At the end of an apprenticeship, an EndPoint Assessment is completed to confirm the apprentice has successfully achieved the required standard.

Our new Apprenticeship Academy has been developed with apprentices and businesses in mind, looking for an apprenticeship in September 2024. We work with over 700 employers across Cumbria, helping them to find suitable apprentices and deliver high-quality training.

As well as having a training facility at Lakes College in Workington, we also have a facility at Kingstown in Carlisle. Apprentices are supported by qualified teachers and coaches who deliver learning in college and in the workplace.

Please note: Applying to Lakes College Apprenticeship Academy does not guarantee an apprenticeship. Our careers team will guide you each step of the way and offer alternatives if required.
