When you attend your enrolment session, you’ll receive your Induction Week timetable, so you’ll know what to expect when you start college. Induction Week begins Wednesday 2nd September.

The HNC in Sport (Leisure Management) is designed for learners who want to develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to progress into leadership and management roles within the sport, fitness and leisure industry.

This course is ideal for school leavers progressing from Level 3 qualifications, adult returners, and those already working in the sector who want to enhance their management, leadership and enterprise skills.

You will explore key areas including physical activity and health, the sport and leisure industry, project management, sport marketing, operations management and leadership. Assessments are assignment-based and reflect real industry scenarios through reports, presentations, case studies and applied projects.

The programme has been developed in line with employer needs and industry trends, helping you build the commercial awareness, operational knowledge and leadership capacity valued across the growing sport and leisure sector.

Successful completion of the course can support progression into employment, self-employment or further higher education study within sport, fitness and leisure management.

Entry requirements

The HNC is a Level 4 course, so applicants are expected to have a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent, such as A Levels) in Sport or a related subject.
