The Level 2 Systems Engineering course at Lakes College offers an exciting, evening-based introduction to one of the UK’s most in-demand technical fields. Designed with strong input from local employers, this free 20-week programme helps adults build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take their first steps toward a rewarding career in engineering.
You’ll explore the key foundations of systems engineering, discovering how technologies such as computing, programming, electronics, robotics, and automation work together as part of complex systems. The course combines practical learning with technical understanding, helping you develop problem-solving, teamwork, and professional skills that employers value.
Delivered through one evening session per week, this flexible programme fits around work and life commitments. You’ll also benefit from two dedicated employer engagement evenings, where you’ll meet industry professionals, gain insight into current projects, and explore potential career pathways.
