If you’ve applied to start a course with us this September, keep an eye on your emails. We’ll be inviting you to an enrolment session during the week commencing 24th August.
When you attend your enrolment session, you’ll receive your Induction Week timetable, so you’ll know what to expect when you start college. Induction Week begins Wednesday 2nd September.
During Induction Week, you’ll meet your tutors, get settled into college and receive your timetable for the rest of the academic year. We’re looking forward to welcoming all our new and returning learners and getting the new college year started!
Progress and Welfare Coaches
'Our aim is to support every student, to raise their aspirations so they succeed at college and in the wider world'
What is the role of a coach?
Each full-time student has a coach, whether they are studying further education, or a university-level higher education course.
What they do
- Monitor learners’ study programme progress
- Carry out one-to-one reviews
- Set targets to stretch and challenge learners
- Work alongside the Safeguarding team and Additional Learning team to support all learners
All further education learners have weekly timetabled personal development sessions, which is a compulsory part of the main study programme. In these sessions a range of subjects are covered, such as:
- Learner attendance, progression and personal development
- Equality and diversity
- British Values
- Setting SMART targets
- CV and application support (such as UCAS or job applications)
