THE Construction Industry Training Board has announced a raft of changes to its grants scheme from next month to ramp up the support available to employers.

The grant rate for short courses is set to double and recipients will be able to receive either £60, £140 or £240 for short courses achieved from April 1. The change is being made due to the rising costs of training.

The grant for supervision and management VQs achieved from April 1 will increase from £600 to £1,250 and £1,500 respectively to help support with the removal of the CSCS Industry Accreditation card.

The grant application deadline will be extended to 52 weeks for all grant types. Attendance grant applications must now be submitted within 52 weeks of the start date and achievement grant applications within 52 weeks of the achievement date.
