Hair & Beauty Therapy

This is where creativity meets customer care. With potential careers including working for global beauty brands, opening up your own salon business, or working on film sets and in the theatre, the opportunities within this field are only as limited as your imagination. It can be hard work, but to those who persevere, it’s a career that offers huge rewards and job satisfaction.

Most of our hair and beauty students will start off learning in the classroom, but there is plenty of real world learning in our Distinctions salon. Students are able to bring in their own clients or work on members of the public, so you can develop your customer service skills, technical skills and, most importantly, your confidence. This is a creative department, and we encourage all our students to take part in plenty of competitions throughout the year where you can impress local salon owners with your skills.

I have always know that I have wanted to work in the beauty industry, so I came straight from school. It's a really interesting course, but hard work! There is a lot of biology in it, which people wouldn't expect, but I really enjoy that side of the course. I already  have a job in the industry, but I plan on studying as high as I can go.
