If you’ve applied to start a course with us this September, keep an eye on your emails. We’ll be inviting you to an enrolment session during the week commencing 24th August.
When you attend your enrolment session, you’ll receive your Induction Week timetable, so you’ll know what to expect when you start college. Induction Week begins Wednesday 2nd September.
During Induction Week, you’ll meet your tutors, get settled into college and receive your timetable for the rest of the academic year. We’re looking forward to welcoming all our new and returning learners and getting the new college year started!
Attendance and Behaviour
Good attendance and behaviour are essential to a learner's success at Lakes College
Attendance
Good attendance is essential to a learner’s success at Lakes College. Attending lessons regularly helps students stay on track with their coursework, develop strong study habits, and build positive relationships with tutors and classmates. Evidence shows that consistent attendance is directly linked to better academic performance and increased confidence in learning.
We understand that there may be times when a student is unable to attend due to illness or other valid reasons. In these cases, it is important that absences are reported as soon as possible using the MyLakes app. Prompt communication allows us to provide any necessary support and helps minimise the impact of missed learning. By working together, we can ensure every student has the best chance to thrive and achieve their goals.
Student Code of Conduct
We expect all learners to behave responsibly and respectfully. Our code of conduct outlines expectations around punctuality, positive behaviour, and a commitment to learning. These all align with the Lakes College Values: Ready, Respectful, Potential
