Working in partnership with the NHS, the course has been designed to give students a wide range of hands-on experience to set them up for a professional career within their chosen medical field.

Course units include: understanding the healthcare sector; providing person-centred care; supporting health and wellbeing; anatomy, physiology and the diseases and disorders that affect the body systems; infection prevention and control; practical clinical skills workshops.

This programme is the equivalent of three A-Levels and mixes classroom learning and 'on-the-job' experience in an industrial placement for a minimum of 315 hours over the duration of the course.

Entry requirements

New applicants must have five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English, Maths and Science. They must also successfully complete a mandatory assessmentday, and are subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

Existing Lakes College learners must have successfully completed the T Level Foundation Programme in Health. They must also have a GCSE maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above.

What next?

After completing a T Level you could go on to an apprenticeship, higher apprenticeship, Higher Education and/or degree apprenticeship, or have the skills to enter full-time employment in all branches of nursing from adult and mental health to learning disabilities and paediatric or midwifery.
