Modern-day workflows rely on various digital technologies to make business operations run smoothly – it’s essential that you understand how to use technology effectively and efficiently.

This course introduces you to skills and concepts which can be found in companies across the world, and arms you with the knowledge required to progress into further education or a career.

The Level 2 in Digital Skills features two pathways which have been tailored to specific audiences: 16-19 year olds and adults.

If you are 16-19 years old, you will study full-time for 1 year and cover the following modules:

Computer programming, cybersecurity, digital skills project, emerging technology, network management, networking, data management and analytics, IT technical support

The adults programme is dedicated to getting people ready for a specific role in digital and technical support services. It includes two modules:

IT technical support, networking

The 20-week course will run on Thursdays from 4:00pm-7:15pm, on-site at Lakes College. There will be an additional 2 hours of online work once a week to be completed.

Entry requirements

To study this course you will need four GCSEs graded 3-9 (including English and maths or equivalent).Additionally, you will be required to attend an Assessment Centre event (further info upon application).Adults: Must demonstrate an interest in the subject area. (You will be subject to a short pre-assessment once you have registered and interviewed for the course)

What next?

16-19: By completing this course, you can progress onto a Level 3 apprenticeship such as Digital Marketer.

Adults: The aim of this course is to get you prepared for a specific job in digital / technical support services. Further studies are available - we offer HNC and HND Digital Technologies courses.
