Course Description

  • Study mode: Part Time
  • Duration: Higher National Certificate in Digital Technologies
  • Student type: Adults
  • Course code: L0316/101

This course features multiple pathways - Cyber Security and Cloud Networking OR Software Development and Programming - and will be taught on day release in three two-hour blocks, which will allow learners to be taught three modules at a time. As there are two pathways, there is an opportunity to merge classes (six units). The course can also be taught over two evenings per week. Classes will be ran in person at the college, with some blended learning as the module needs. Where possible modules will be designed with local skills needs in mind and teaching content will be developed in collaboration with employers and live projects where possible. Students are expected to commit to home study as well as college attendance.

Entry requirements

48 UCAS points in a computing and/or maths related subject, completion of BTEC National Extended Diploma at overall merit or above, or completion of T Level in digital. Plus five GCSEs including both maths and English at a grade C/4 or above. We welcome applications from candidates with the equivalent qualifications or relevant experience. All applications are subject to a successful interview and initial assessment.

Costs

Find Higher Education course costs on our Financial Support page - click here for more details. We have a wide range of resources available, however, you may be required to purchase course texts and learning resources.

What next?

On completion of the HND there would be an opportunity to complete the Level 6 at the college if the student wanted to continue in education. There is a large skills gap both in the local area working for employers along with the national skills gap whereby many digital roles include remote working. Skilled digital personnel will be able to recruit to these roles.
