The Level 2 Certificate in Accounting is ideal for anyone wishing to study accountancy and finance alongside a range of complementary business and personal skills.

The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting is to offer the foundation accounting knowledge to progress to employment or further study in accountancy and finance, alongside personal and business skills that are transferable to any sector and additional business knowledge relevant to accountancy.

The qualification offers a broader focus across several subject areas which enhances employability.

Students should choose the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting if they're interested in developing transferable business and personal skills alongside their core accountancy skills.

This qualification may also be valuable for those entering the workplace for the first time or for those changing careers who would like additional support in upskilling to enter, or re-enter, a business environment.

This course is delivered through face-to-face lessons in the classroom, every Thursday from 5pm until 8.30pm during term time. Three to five hours of self study is required each week.

The Level 2 certificate in Accounting runs over an academic year.

Entry requirements

To study this course learners will need at least GCSEs 9-4 (A*-C) in English and maths, or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths where GCSEs were not achieved.

Learners also need to carry out two short tests at course interview stage to demonstrate their skills and ability to study AAT Level 2.

You must be 18+ to study on our AAT courses.

Costs

This Level 2 course is part-funded, so the cost for students is reduced. Actual Cost is: £1265.00. All costs are subject to slight changes.

What next?

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to higher levels of the AAT Accounting Qualifications (Level 3 and then on to Level 4).

Under the Free Courses for Jobs initiative, you might be eligible for a fully-funded Level 3 course.

Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of your Level 3 study.
