You will develop knowledge in business along with skills such as customer service, digital skills and project management, as well as developing professional skills..
It is ideal for students who want to develop their softer/professional skills such as confidence, communication skills and organisation.
It is also well-equipped for students who need to achieve a grade 4 in either English or maths.
You will study project management, basic accounting, social media marketing, customer service, data analytics and event planning as well as the applications within Office 365 (such as Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint).
The course is designed with local employers in mind and will develop skills in students, enabling them to thrive in the sector.
You could progress into a career in marketing, human resources, accounting and project management, in any number of organisations or even part of the Sellafield supply chain. This includes jobs such as personal assistant or business administration. .
Entry requirements
To study this course you must have four GCSEs Grade 3 or above (with English preferred but not essential).
Costs
Free to all 16-18 year olds. Funding may be available for 19-23 year olds. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA (Employment Support Allowance, work related activity) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs.
What next?
This is a one-year course and can be a route to an apprenticeship such as business administration, digital marketer, HR assistant, accounts payable, and data. Once complete you also have the opportunity to progress onto the T Level in Business - a two-year course which is equivalent to three A-Levels.
