  • Because of the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemption) Order 1975 and you are therefore not entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are ‘spent’ under the provisions of the Act. However, having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. This will depend upon the nature of your position and the circumstances and the background of your offence.
  • 2. Referees

    Please provide details of two people we may approach for references, one of whom should be your most recent employer. If you are in or just completed full-time education, one reference should be you’re your school/college/university. References are normally taken up for shortlisted candidates before interview. Their contents are not disclosed to the Selection Panel beforehand.

If you are successful and come to work for us we will keep your information in a Personal File to enable us to administrate your contract of employment. Most of this information will be disposed of 6 years after you have left but we will retain limited evidence of your employment in case you have a further enquiry about pensions or need a reference from us.
