Electrical apprenticeship

Five years, one day in college
Level 3

Electrician apprentices support electricians in the maintenance, operation and repair
of electrical systems. They assist with and perform installation and maintenance
tasks in order to ensure the effective operation of various electrical equipment.
Electrician apprentices typically work in large facilities and construction sites that
may be commercial, industrial, governmental or residential on equipment such as
lighting systems, conductors, power distribution and cables. Most work as
contractors. They work under the direct supervision of electricians as trainees and
assistants performing less-skilled tasks for a number of years before moving into an
electrician role.
