What made you choose Lakes College?

We have used Lakes College for several years to recruit our apprentices.  We have a good working relationship with the tutor allocated to us, she knows the type of person we are looking for.

What benefits do apprentices/ work experience bring to your business?

The benefits of Apprentices are that we can offer training from the start of their working career and hopefully retain them to become a valued member of our staff.

How has COVID affected your business?

Obviously Covid has affected business like everybody else, but we have adapted to new ways of working, either by remote working at home, having reduced staff in the office, offering telephone appointments, using Zoom or Teams.  We have retained all our staff and even recruited in the last 12 months.

Will you be recruiting apprentices/ work experience in the future?

We will continue to recruit apprentices in the future when our current apprentice is moved to a more permanent role. Many of our apprentices are kept on, several of our existing support staff all started as apprentices.

What support has / can Lakes College provide you in relation to your business now or in the future?

Continue to be there offering young people of West Cumbria the opportunity to gain a career.
