Nurse Cadets (T Level Health)

Helping to prepare the healthcare sector workers of the future.

Overview

Our Nurse Cadets programme (T Level Health) is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to progress into a Nursing career. You will study for 3 days each week at Lakes College, as well as be taught modules which are specifically related to Nursing and the care sector.

As part of the course, you will be required to complete set placements within a clinical setting in west Cumbria and the local hospital trust. These placements help many of our students choose which area of clinical healthcare they have interests in for further study. Each student is paired up with a healthcare assistant who acts as a buddy to provide support and guidance while on placement. While on placement, students get to experience community clinical settings.

A successful Nurse Cadet will, after two years, have all the qualifications, skills and experience needed to progress to a University degree. Alternatively, they may choose to become a Health Care Assistant, and will be able to progress to an Assistant Practitioner Role within the NHS, with many of our students taking up part-time bank work in the local trust.

This programme is open to those aged 16 or over (on Sep 1st 2021). Please note that those aged 19+ are not eligible for this course.
