Questions and answers
The programmes vary in length but we don’t expect anyone to go longer than 12-14 weeks. It really depends on your previous knowledge, the time you put into reading the material and answering the questions. Some people can achieve in a few weeks.
This varies as it depends on your prior experience and the content of the qualifications. As a guide, we estimate an average 10-15 hrs of time is needed.
Depending on the number of learners we may ask for you to come into college for an initial advice and guidance session – due to the current situation, this will not be happening at the moment, so our advisors will support you remotely. We want to make sure the programme is correct for you and that you fully understand your commitment and what the qualification will cover as many applicants are interested in a number of qualifications.
Yes – this is certificated by a recognised external awarding body.
You can do one course after another but we do not allow multiple qualifications running at the same time as we find this is not effective for the learner. However, you can achieve quickly and progress onto another course.
We prefer to use online as it is more time efficient but you can discuss with your Training Officer your needs. If utilising online you also have a workbook for reference.
A tutor here at Lakes College will be on-hand to provide support and answer any questions you may have.
