The certificate in the principles of End of Care is designed to give learners a deep understanding of the knowledge ans skills needed to support individusls approaching the end of life. The qualification promotes compassionate, person-centred care and explores how dignity, comfort, respect, and wellbeing can be mainted during the final stages of life.

Learners will develop an awareness of the emotional, social, and physical aspects of end of life care, the importance of communication, and the legal and ethical frameworks that guide practice. The course also highlights the role of multi- disciplinary teams, the needs of families and carers, and strategies for providing sensitive, supportive, and holistic care.

This qualification is suitable fo those working in health and social care. as well as anyone wishing to impprove their understanding to support individuals and families during this critical time. The course will run for three hours, over seven sessions, starting on 28th April.

Entry requirements

An interest to gain knowledge and an understanding of End of Life Care.

Costs

*This course is free for adults aged 19-plus if they are unemployed, or earn below £35,000. It is also free for all adults aged 19-23-years-old who do not already hold a Level 2 qualification. You must also meet UK residency requirements. To study this course for free you must provide evidence of income/employment status.

What next?

This course will prepare learners to have further knowledge and support with End of Life Care. Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to further education at level 3.
