• Course Description

  The Level 1 Diploma in Plumbing is an introductory course that will equip you with the basic practical skills and knowledge needed to start work in the plumbing industry. The course comprises of theory work and practical sessions in the plumbing workshops in the college’s state-of-the-art Construction Skill Centre. The units covered will include: structure of the construction industry, fundamental safe working practices, environmental & sustainability measures, site preparation, above ground drainage, copper pipework, plastic pressure pipe, low carbon steel pipework, installation & maintenance of plumbing systems, plumbing science. This is an ideal course for you if you work well in a team, enjoy working with your hands and you're looking to take your first steps in a domestic or industrial plumbing career. As part of this course you will also have the opportunity to top up your maths and English skills if applicable for your studies.

• Entry Requirements?

  To study this course you’ll need to demonstrate aptitude in a plumbing diagnostic.

• Costs

  Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds where needed as a stepping stone to progress to a full Level 2. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA (Employment Support Allowance, work related activity) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs. Actual Cost is: £2583.00. All costs are subject to slight changes.

• What Next?

  This course will prepare you for the Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing. You may also wish to continue your studies as part of an apprenticeship.
