Introduction

All staff at Lakes College embrace the collective responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of all learners swiftly addressing and acting upon all cases of harassment, abuse, neglect and risk to personal safety of any young person or vulnerable adult. The College adheres to and is fully committed to legislation, policy guidance and regulations as required by:

Lakes College is dedicated to working together with all external partner agencies and organisations to safeguard its community, which includes all learners, full or part-time, staff, volunteers and visitors. The commitment to safeguard and protect children extends collectively to everyone in the college and all activities, adopting a fully inclusive, focused, safety conscious, preventative approach. The College policies, procedures and processes provide a framework for designated staff members that have responsibility for safeguarding and child protection, and the Prevent Duty within the college to swiftly deal with any potential risk or harm to individuals. The College actively promotes Fundamental British Values through our own values and The College Prevent Strategy (see below) creating an inclusive, safe culture for all.
