Lakes College reaches top 100 for university-level student satisfaction
Lakes College is now considered one of the top 100 providers of university level education in the UK. Following the National Student Survey, which is completed by higher education students in colleges and universities across the country, Lakes College has shown continued improvements in its provision for undergraduates.
The survey has revealed increased satisfaction rates by HE students in comparison with 2014, having identified a number of areas of improvement. The college scored highly on its assessment and feedback procedures and students feel that studying on their course has allowed personal development, instilling self-confidence and problem solving abilities. 100 percent of the students who participated in the survey felt that they were able to contact a member of staff when necessary.
The NSS is a high-profile census of nearly half a million students across the UK. Aimed at mainly final-year undergraduates, it gathers opinions from learners about their experience of their courses, asking them to provide honest feedback about what it has been like to study on their course at their institution.
In 2014 Lakes College was confirmed as a UK Quality Assured establishment following a QAA (Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) review. The college offers a range of university level courses across its curriculum, including Engineering, Construction, Business, Art, Health and Social Care, Childhood Studies and more.
Chris Nattress, Principal at Lakes College comments, “The results from the survey are a fantastic outcome for the college. As we continue to develop and increase our higher education provision, it’s a joy to hear our students’ satisfaction. There are always areas we strive to improve on, but this is a really great result following the QAA seal of approval and shows we are absolutely heading in the right direction as we progress with our university level offers.”
