Welcome to Lakes College!
Welcome to Lakes College! We are delighted that you will be joining us in September.
To study with us, you will need to enrol onto the course you applied for in order to confirm your place.
Further Education enrolment commences from 29th August 2017, and Higher Education enrolment commences from 4th September 2017.
Further Education students
You should receive a letter from us over the next few days inviting you to attend an enrolment session for your course. As enrolment is a very busy time for us, it is essential that you attend the session timeslot specified on your letter. Please note: if you arrive late, you may miss your enrolment session and your place may be at risk.
If you are unable to attend the session specified on your letter, or if you have any further queries, please call our Student Services team on 01946 839300.
Higher Education students
You will receive a letter over the summer with full details of your enrolment. It is very important that you remember to bring with you your Financial Notification Letter from Student Finance England to your enrolment session.
What can I expect on the day?
Your enrolment session will last for a minimum of 1hr 30mins. You will receive a welcome pack which will include details of your study programme, and receive your induction timetable for the initial stages of the course. You will also have your photograph taken for your student ID badge.
During the session you will be required to complete an online Initial Assessment activity. This will provide us with an accurate picture of your current working level of English, Mathematics and ICT, allowing us to begin building your individual profile to support development of key employability skills. You do not need to prepare in any way for this assessment but it is a very important part of us working together to establish your starting point that helps inform improvement targets and goals.
What do I need to bring?
In order for the enrolment process to go as smoothly as possible, you will need to bring:
- All your examination results (GCSEs and any other relevant certificates). Please note if you do not bring with you your GCSE certificates we will not be able to proceed with your enrolment at the session. This will result in you having to return at an alternative time to complete your enrolment and could jeopardise your place on the course.
- Financial support forms (e.g. bus passes) and any evidence required to process this
- Any other documentation requested in your offer letter.
If you are aged 19 or over (on the 31st August 2017) you may incur fees. You can discuss payment options available with our finance team at the enrolment session. You may wish to take advantage of our instalment plans or perhaps want to apply for financial support. Please ensure you bring with you bank details to complete this process if applicable. If you are in receipt of benefits or low income, please ensure you bring proof of these to your enrolment session if you have not already brought them into Student Services.

If you haven’t yet applied for a course with us, it’s not too late!
