As an Apprentice, you will learn how to:

 

  • Work safely in an electrical environment. 
  • Learn about Health & Safety, Manual Handling and hazards at work. 
  • Work effectively with supervisors, visitors and others and developing yourself. 
  • Interpret electrical technical drawings, manuals, charts and books. 
  • Gain an understanding and identify materials used in industry. 
  • Build on work based experience to gain recognised industry related qualification.

 

Entry Requirements
  • GCSE’s at grade C in Maths, Science and preferably English.. 
  • Good attitude to learning. 
  • Successful completion of the Lakes College induction. 
  • Enthusiasm for the occupational area. 
  • Willingness to achieve your goals. 
  • Minimum age of 16 years. 
  • Employment in an electrical environment.

Progress onto further specialised indus¬try related courses including IEE 17th Edition Qualification and Inspection & Testing.

Costs

Apprenticeships are Government funded. However, whilst in college you will be provided with all tools and personal protective clothing required.
